I believe most of you are now flooded with information sharing through social media, whatsapp and emails on Economic Stimulus Package (ESP) launched by the Government which aims to provide relief to all Malaysian that was affected by the COVID-19 virus.
As employer or HR personnel, you might be confused on the two (2) relief program launched under PERKESO namely Employment Retention Program (ERP) and Wage Subsidy Program.

During the Movement Control Period (MCO), employer is required to pay full salary to employees and cannot force employees to take annual leave or unpaid leave, unless employees’ consent is obtained (as per advised by the Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia).
While you are worrying about your company’s cash flows and how you can pay your employees’ salary during this ‘ZERO income period’, the ERP and Wage Subsidy Program which were announced in the Economic Stimulus Package is now opened for application starting from 20 March 2020 and 9 April 2020, respectively.
You are advised to do a sense check internally to assess if your company is qualified for either one or both of the relief programs #wagesubsidyprogram #ERP and compile the required documents NOW and submit the application IMMEDIATELY in order to get the subsidy before your company cash flow dries up!

Starting from 13 April 2020, all ERP application shall be made online via prihatin.perkeso.gov.my . You are not required to
re-submit the application if you have submitted the ERPC-19 form
via email prior to 13 April 2020.
