How to claim individual tax relief for basis year 2019 tax filing ?

On the advice of the Health Ministry and health experts, the government has decided to extend the MCO for another two weeks, from April 15 until April 28 year 2020. All Malaysians are urged to stay at home to prevent the virus from spreading again.

What can you do during this extended MCO period besides keep checking out the food in your fridge?

YES! You can also compile all invoice/receipt, download all insurance premium statement, medical bills and other supporting documents to make FULL CLAIM of the Tax Relief applicable to you for basis year 2019 tax filing to avoid paying EXTRA tax due to incomplete documents.

Kindly take note on the EXTENDED INDIVIDUAL TAX FILING DEADLINES as follows:


Form BE (employment income only) – extended to 30 June 2020

Form B (individual with business income) – extended to 31 August 2020

This is an Extension NOT an Exemption, so please MARK DOWN this deadline in your calendar.
